D&AD President’s Lectures 2015

We were tasked with creating a communications campaign to promote the annual President’s lecture series for the first quarter of the year, covering the ‘Awakening Tech’, Yuya Furakawa and Ben Tricklebank talks.

The design is built around the concept of creative note taking. Each poster is a “blow up” of a notional page in a designer’s notebook capturing the imagined stream of conscious doodles inspired by listening to the lecture.

The signature blue biro drawings became our interpretation of the blue brand coding for D&Ad events communications.

The illustrators Peter O’Connor and Daniel Seex were commissioned to deliberately change up the execution style / “hand” of each one to support the idea that each doodle represented a different moment and a different guest at the lectures.

The campaign was rolled out across various touchpoints including a Moleskin notebook style folded flyer, Large format posters, along with a collection of digital assets used on the website homepage, broadcast emails and across social media channels.
